 Mr.
Smith is a Vice President with S2Li and also
serves as Regional Manager in our Atlanta, Georgia
office. Mr. Smith has managed major solid waste
projects in the public and private sector for
25 years with work assignments directly involving
key decision makers, elected officials, project
staff, regulatory agencies, and the general
public. His project management skills and assignments
have taken him from public presentations in
the morning to digging in landfills in the afternoon.
He has been involved in comprehensive
services for solid waste management facilities
including the permitting, design, construction,
operations, closure, and post closure of solid
waste facilities; procurement of solid waste
disposal and landfill gas services; facility
siting; solid waste management studies; and
third-party design review. He has a strong background
in computer applications on engineering assignments
including development of computer programs to
aid in the design of sanitary landfills, solid
waste vehicle transportation and other environmental
facilities; life cycle costs of proposed projects;
feasibility study modeling; construction progress
monitoring; and air quality monitoring.
Mr. Smith has been involved
in solid waste assignments in Brevard County,
Florida; Leon County, Florida; Orlando, Florida;
Seminole County, Florida; City of Alexandria,
Virginia; Cities of Macon and Warner Robbins,
Georgia; Martin County, Florida; Gwinnett County,
Georgia; and Hernando and Citrus Counties, Florida;
City of Concord, New Hampshire; Lake County,
Florida; Fairfax County, Virginia; and many
other public and private clients in counties
and municipalities throughout the eastern United
States.
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor
of Science in Civil Engineering degree and a
Master of Science degree from Memphis State
University. He is a registered professional
engineer in the states of Georgia, Florida,
and Tennessee. He is an active member in the
Solid Waste Association of North America and
the National Solid Waste Management Association.
